This is the first article in a series detailing how to create a real source of income that will allow you more time and freedom to do what you want. It’s not hype. I’m going off of firsthand experience. I did it.

We’ll explore your goals, the nuts & bolts of setting up a business, scaling up to freedom, and everything in between.

Good? Great! On we go!

First things first. Before we get to the nitty gritty of creating a lifestyle business, we need to figure out what’s most important to you.

Well, what’s most important to you?

As the saying goes, “when you’re lying on your deathbed, you’re not going to wish you’d just spent more time at the office.”

I’m willing to bet that family will be the most important thing to you. In fact, family is kind of the whole point of it all.

So in today’s busy world, how can you build your life around your family?

It seems many people are caught working so hard to make ends meet that they spend their best waking hours away from their families.

In fact, most people only spend nights and weekends with their loved ones and maybe a tiny vacation once a year.

When you think about what’s truly most important to you, you see how backwards that is.

There’s a better way. You can build a family-centered life.

But what about money?

Good question. And that’s the point of this whole series.

But first let’s explore why -

Your Family Wants You to Quit Your Job

Yes, you read that correctly. Your family wants you to quit your job.

When I was 18 years old I worked at a horrible retailer who ignored labor laws and overtime pay. For a while, I was forced to work 12 hour days. And I was on 100% commission!

Christmas time was coming and I was required to work the entire Christmas week including Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

The day before Christmas Eve I was completely burned out. I indulged myself in an hour extra of sleep and as a result, showed up an hour late.

Two of the store managers were literally waiting outside for me when I got there. They started in with their rant and I walked past them into the store. I took one look at the store, turned around, got back in my car and left the store forever.

When I got home, my dad was surprised to see me.

“Don’t you have to work today?” he asked.

Fearing he’d be upset that I lost my employment, I sheepishly said, “I quit”.

To my surprise, he sounded excited.

“Oh good! Well at least you’ll be with the family for Christmas!”

That kind of summed it all up right there.

Now Is the Time for You to Think About Quitting Your Job

Here’s why:

Your family wants to feel secure – knowing that your family’s well being is based on how happy you’re able to make your boss is not a safe feeling. And it comes out in how you treat your family.

Your family wants you to be happy – coming home and kicking the dog and griping about work all night is not happiness. Neither is being so tired that all you can do is sit in front of the TV and zone out.

Your family wants you to be healthy – a triple bypass is never fun. Neither is a panic attack. If you’re stressing out at work, you’re literally dying for a job. Where’s the payoff?!

Your family wants you to have money – you don’t need millions. But you do need enough to do the things every family should get to experience. You’ll never get rich from a job. You just won’t. Unless you’re at the top of the food chain, your income will always be just enough to make ends meet. And if you’re at the top of the food chain, you’re most likely sacrificing something else like health or time.

Your family wants your time – and they should get it! You didn’t get married to have your husband or wife spend all of his/her time with other men and women! You didn’t have kids so you could pay other people to raise them!

(Actually, you might have. In which case this whole blog probably isn’t for you – this is about creating a family centered life with great income and tons of adventure – but thanks for visiting!)

Most of all…

Your family wants you – they like you! They love you! And you love them. It follows then that you’ll do what it takes to make them more of a priority.

Here’s the great thing – we live in a day in age where you don’t have to sacrifice 40-80 hours a week away from your family!

I going to repeat that and make it big and bold.

We live in a day in age where you don’t have to sacrifice 40-80 hours a week away from your family!

If you’re doing that still it’s because you really want to or you’re just plain not seeing the opportunity available.

“Ok fine then smarty, what do you suggest?” you say.

I’m glad you asked!

You need money. Income. Mula. Dinero. And that’s what this series is all about.

I’m going to break it down the best I can and show you how you can set up a system that will create money and thus create your desired lifestyle.

You’re going to start small. In your own backyard so to speak. You’ll create a micro-business, a lifestyle business, or whatever you want to call it.

It’s an alternate stream of income. No, not multiple streams of income! Not yet.

You’re going to focus on building on extra stream of income that you can work hard at and buy your freedom.

Your family wants you to quit your job. But not until you’ve got a good enough alternate stream of income coming in.

In the next article, we’ll look at your goals and figuring out what you really want.

Before you start hustling on your business, you need to know why first. It can get hard. You’ll need this to fall back on. Trust me.

For now, what’s the biggest challenge you have when it comes to leaving your job?
